What severe pain means
Constant throbbing pain that keeps you awake usually indicates a dental abscess. The pain may spread to jaw, ear or temple. You may notice swelling, bad taste, or difficulty opening your mouth. This is an active infection needing urgent treatment.
Sharp pain when biting may indicate a cracked tooth. Pain triggered by hot food that lingers suggests inflamed nerve. All need professional assessment.
What we do
Examine, X-ray, diagnose. For abscess: drain, antibiotics if needed, begin root canal or extraction. For cracked tooth: stabilise with temporary crown. For pulpitis: root canal to eliminate pain. You leave with pain resolved or significantly reduced.
When to call us
Call immediately. Severe dental pain does not resolve on its own. Infection can spread. The sooner you are treated, the simpler the solution.
