Gum Disease
Treatment
Bleeding gums, bad breath and loose teeth are signs of gum disease — the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. Treatable at every stage.
£40 Smile Consultation applies to cosmetic enquiries only — composite bonding, clear aligners, veneers, dental implants and teeth whitening. Includes full examination, digital X-rays and written treatment plan. £40 redeemable against treatment. Online bookings only. New patients seen within one week.
The silent problem
Gum disease begins as gingivitis — red, swollen gums that bleed when you brush. At this stage, it is fully reversible with professional cleaning and improved home care. Left untreated, it progresses to periodontitis — infection that destroys the bone supporting your teeth.
The challenge is that gum disease is usually comfortable until the advanced stages. This is why regular hygienist appointments are so important — your hygienist can detect and treat it long before you notice symptoms.
Treatment
Mild (gingivitis): scale and polish plus improved home care. Usually resolves in 2–4 weeks. Moderate to severe (periodontitis): deep cleaning under local anaesthetic, targeting tartar below the gum line. Follow-up monitoring every 3 months.

Gum disease does not wait: Bone loss is irreversible. A £67 hygienist appointment today could prevent a £2,380 implant tomorrow.
